12 - Playa Cacaluta

This is a beautiful long beach about 1400' with coarse white sands. The waves are smaller but the current feels strong and this beach is most easily accessible by water unless you're into very long drives down bumpy dirt roads. This is one of the two beaches inside Cacaluta Bay it is also part of the Riscalillo Park Huatulco. The other beach is Playa El Arroyo, connected just to the East. There is a nearby Island (Isla Mariana) with several coral reefs. These reefs have lots of rock formations for the local marine life making this a popular dive spot. There is also a small restaurant (Palapa Cacaluta - Seafood) on the beach just a short distance from the shoreline.
